Genting Dream - Dream Palace

In my opinion, to explain it in simple terms... Dream Palace seems like the Business Class or First Class on Genting Dream (just like SIA's Business Class/First Class). I have checked the price for Dream Palace before making my booking, it cost approximately S$5,000+ while the balcony stateroom which we booked cost S$3,000+ for 2 adults and 2 children (4 pax in the room).

Almost forgot to inform that there are gratitude fee to be pay onboard! For balcony stateroom and below cost S$20/- per night per person; gratitude fee for suite room and above cost S$25/- per night per person. Children below 7 years old are free and children between 7 to 12 years old needs to pay gratitude (a form of service charge) 50% of the adult fee per night per person. End up the total cost for our this trip cost approximately S$3,500.00 but I think its quite ok. If we would plan a 5 nights trip to Bangkok or Taiwan, the air ticket plus hotel stay would have been around this price not inclusive of meal expenses.

Dream Palace is part boutique hotel, part private clubhouse. From the moment you arrive, you will experience an incomparable level of hospitality from their dedicated European butler concierge service. From the introduction brochure, they stated that the private butler will perfectly press your garments, shine your shoes, and arrange priority spa, dining and excursion reservations. They will serve afternoon tea, dinner or cocktails in your suite, and deliver room service from selected restaurants on board.

I was tempted to make booking for Dream Palace but the difference in cost means I can go for another short cruise trip (we went for 6 days 5 nights but there are weekend cruise which only take 2 nights) for 4 of us. So naturally, I go for the most cost effective choice.

Hubby and me was roaming around the decks sightseeing on the first night we board the ship when we walk to the Genting Club which is exclusive for Dream Palace guests. We did ask for permission before we walk in but the second day onwards we were not allowed to walk in anymore (because we were not dream palace guest :p). Hence, we manage to take some photos and a video on the "private facilities".

Private sun deck and pool! The only problem is when we were there it was night time.. so can I call it night deck instead? :p

Dream Palace guests only! The door was open and there were service staff at the entrance. We were allowed to walk in to take a look on the first night but 2nd day onwards we were not allowed to go in (we tried to go in on 2nd day as we thought there is only 1 gym available. Ends up the public gym is even larger at deck 15 instead. The private gym is at deck 19).
